Hair condition plays a very vital role in styling our looks. Hair fall, damage, split ends, and dandruff are some of the common hair problems faced by all. Earlier hair loss used to be a sign of ageing but in today's hectic lifestyles and work-related stress, hair fall has become an extremely noticeable and detectable factor of social life.
Here I will let you know about few easily available products or rather best available home-based remedies for your hair.
1. Onion Juice :
Onion juice is rich in sulphur that boosts collagen production in the tissues and helps in regrowth of hair. It is one of the oldest and the most efficient home remedy for hair growth. Squeeze out onion juice and apply it allover your scalp carefully and leave it on for not more than 15 minutes and then rinse off with a mild shampoo. (Do use only mild shampoo like Dove or Himalaya or L'Oreal)
2. Apple Cider Vinegar :
Apple cider vinegar gently cleanses the scalp, maintains the pH balance of the hair, and accelerates hair growth. Soon after washing your hair with mild shampoo use a cup of the solution containing 75ml of apple cider vinegar with one litre of water and finally rinse your hair with water.
3. Egg Mask :
Egg mask is rich in proteins, sulphur, zinc, iron and iodine. The high protein content makes eggs one of the best ingredients that promote hair growth. You can mix egg white in a bowl and add a teaspoon of olive oil and honey to it. Mix it all well to form a smooth paste. Apply it to your hair and scalp carefully. Leave it on for 20 minutes. Rinse with cool water and shampoo it off.
4. Coconut Milk :
Coconut milk is rich in proteins, iron, and other essential nutrients, and promotes hair growth and prevents breakage thus works fabulously as a conditioner on your hair. Take 4 tablespoons of coconut milk and mix it with honey and olive oil or castor oil. Heat this mixture for 2 minutes and then apply it to your hair. Now wear a hair cap and leave your hair for an hour. Wash your hair with regular mild shampoo.
N.B.: Many people get confused with coconut milk and coconut water. Coconut milk is obtained from the kernels of mature coconuts. Scrap coconut and squeeze it to get coconut milk.
5. Indian Gooseberry or Amla :
Amla is a great source of antioxidants and vitamin C. It promotes healthy hair growth and also improves the pigmentation of hair. Mix amla powder or juice and lime juice. Apply this mixture on your scalp properly and let it dry for some time. Rinse your hair well with luke warm water.
6. Green Tea :
Green tea is rich in antioxidants. These antioxidants prevent hair loss and boost hair growth. Apply slightly warm green tea all over your scalp. Leave it on for an hour. Rinse off with cold water.
7. Garlic :
Garlic is widely known as a home remedy for reducing loss of hair. It boosts the regeneration of new hair and promotes blood circulation in the scalp. Boil crushed garlic cloves in olive oil or coconut oil. Apply it to the roots of your hair follicles. Wash off properly without any shampoo or soap solution. Rinse your hair well the next day with mild shampoo.
8. Hibiscus Flower :
Hibiscus is truly said to be the “flower of hair care.” This flower is used for curing dandruff and enhancing hair growth. Make a paste of hibiscus flowers with coconut oil or sesame oil. Apply it on your hair evenly. Rinse with a mild shampoo.
Finally regular combing and trimming are extremely important for expediting the growth of new hair. Comb your hair thrice a day and trim it every three months. Combing is essential as it provides good blood circulation and stimulates hair follicles, helping them produce new hair naturally.
