LETS GET GORGEOUS AND BEAUTIFUL THIS WINTER

Hello all !!!

I am again back with another interesting topic of concern, exclusively for the present season that's to be knocking on the door - THE WINTERS.

Well now to describe the season, firstly, this is the season for which I wait the entire year to arrive. In short, I LOVE WINTERS, and I am sure many of you do too.
Now to describe the season, its windy, its chilling, its foggy or smoggy in today,s criteria, its romantic, its flirty, its cozy, it has the aroma of hot brewing coffees, its not humid, it lacks moisture and of course our main concern ; #IT's TOO DRY, ending up our skin to get flaked with dry cells almost every time.

Now for me , I face dry flaky skin almost the entire year, coz I have extremely dry skin. In fact scrubbing always does not help. I sometimes end up spending a lot of money for my skin to remain hydrated all the time. I love winters so much but my hair and skin seems to hate itSo I came up with this idea of sharing the very little I know about natural remedies to kick away dryness from skin and hair .

Winters tend to be harsh on hair. We need to take extra care of our hair.
The two most commonly known problems related to our hair during the winters are :
DANDRUFF
HAIR-FALL
Now these two major problems leads to spilt ends, breaking out of a pimple, dry scalp, rashes. So we all are aware that our skin and hair is inter-related , and needs special care equally, but that really does not mean we need to spend a lot of money.

These days we all , men, women and third gender try out hair styling like straightening , smoothing, , global colouring, bleaching, curling, perming , which can harm our hair scalp and hair growing cells. Even in case of our skin, we use loads of makeup products both drugstore and high end, and at end of the month we end up landing in salons for either expensive hair spa or skin hydration therapies.

Cold weather and low humidity levels result in dry air, which then steals moisture away from the skin every second of every day. Without immediate care, dry skin can lead to cracking and bleeding, and harsh winter wind makes the problem worse.

TIME FOR REMEDIES TO KEEP YOUR SKIN HEALTHY AND HAIR BEAUTIFUL :

SKIN :
Additional moisture helps, but you need to do more to actually counteract these effects and keep skin looking youthful and smooth. To reduce chapping, redness, itching, and keep skin more healthy and comfortable this season, try these tips.

1.  WASH IN LUKEWARM WATER :

Hot showers and baths always feel good in the winter, but when you can, particularly when just washing your face or hands, choose lukewarm water to avoid stripping as many oils away from the skin.

2. MOISTURISE IMMEDIATELY AFTERWARDS :

Your skin not only needs more moisture, but moisture right after you wash. Applying moisture to damp skin helps seal that dampness into the skin.

3. CHOOSE MOISTURISER CAREFULLY :

Some over-the-counter moisturisers have petroleum-based ingredients that can actually further dry your skin in the winter months. Be sure to choose a smart formula that has natural, nourishing ingredients. Go for an oil-based rather than a water-based solution, as it’s more likely to help your skin retain moisture in the winter.

4. DRINK : We tend to drink less water in the winter because we turn to hot drinks like cocoa and tea, but don’t forget that your skin needs hydration from the inside, out.

A little warm water with lemon can be very refreshing and hydrating at the same time.

5. OVERNIGHT MOISTURIZE :

Dryer areas like hands, feet, elbows, and knees have thin skin and tend to lose moisture faster than other areas on the body. Consider slathering on a deep moisturizing balm at night.

6 . EXFOLIATE :

We often forget to help the skin slough off dead cells in the winter, particularly on our hands. Yet moisture can’t get in if the dead cells are too plentiful. Find an exfoliating mask and use it on your face and your hands, as well as gently on your lips, then follow immediately with moisture to truly see a smoother difference. Exfoliating body washes are also helpful in the winter months.
7. USE DIY MASKS : Homemade hydrating masks can provide needed moisture in the winter months. Use natural moisturizing ingredients like honey, yogurt, olive and jojoba oils, almond oil, bananas, and aloe. Mix what you like together to create a cream or paste, and leave on skin for 10-30 minutes for lasting hydration.
HAIR :
Winters tends to make our hair and scalp all the more dryer because of lack of moisture in the air. So, the first step is to give your hair a good dose of moisture that it needs to survive this harsh winter.

1. WINTER HAIR CARE BY HOT OIL TREATMENTS :  You might already know that hot oil treatments are a big and important part of  hair care routine no matter what season it is. Hair tends to be on the dryer side in the winters. Hence, we need to use heat to penetrate the moisture in our hair and scalp.
2. DIY TIME Put the life back into your limp or damaged hair with this terrific home remedy: combine 1 teaspoon apple cider vinegar with 2 tablespoons olive oil and 3 egg whites, then rub the mix into your hair. Keep your hair covered for about a half hour using plastic wrap or a shower cap, then shampoo and rinse.
3. COMBING THE RIGHT WAY : While combing our hair with a brush or a regular comb, our hair tends to gather static reactions , especially in the winters due to over dryness. Use a baby wipe along to moisturize and untangled your hair. Just punch in the wipe onto the bristles of your hair.
4 . NATURAL REMEDIES :

Using products like yogurt , curd, honey, almond oils give your hair the best conditioning backup. Try making a paste of curd and lemon juice to get rid of dandruff.

5. TREAT YOUR HAIR WITH BEVERAGES : Our hair needs hydrating elements too, especially during the winters. So, next time when you have your green tea , do not throw away the used tea bag, re-stock some tea liquor for your hair wash. You can try coffee liquor or normal regular tea liquor for the same.
6. BOUQUET IT UP : All of you must have seen women adding flowers to their hair-styling or casual buns. Next time extract some for the beautification of your hair from within the roots. Try pulling out the semen of hibiscus flower (JABA in Bengali) and mixing it with few drops of milk or paste of almonds and apply it directly on the scalp sectioning you hair. You can do the same with jasmine flowers too.
So that,s all for now. I hope this gets helpful to all my readers. Stay beautiful and gorgeous.
Hope to read your reviews on this soon.

FIGHT YOUR MONTHLY HAZARDS

HEY ALL LADIES OUT THERE, HOW ARE YOU TODAY ?

Firstly, I would appeal to all of you that I am not a DOCTOR by any means. So whatever I am to be discussing here is all derived from my knowledge with several articles and books, medical magazines and me personally being a student of Human Psychology and Sociology, I often land up meeting ladies asking how do get rid of menstruation troubles. So here,s how it appears to me.

What is MENSTRUATION ???

Menstruation, also known as a period or monthly, is the regular discharge of blood and mucosal tissue from the inner lining of the uterus through the vagina.

Why do one MENSTRUATE ???

Now this one thing must have come to almost all minds why do they menstruate?
Well all animals being social or unsocial do not menstruate. Only a handful of mammals aside from we the females, a small number of bat species, and the elephant shrew – have opted for the monthly bleed. Each month the uterus prepares a thick and luxurious lining in preparation for the arrival of a fertilized egg – an embryo that will develop into a fetus and after nine months, a full-term baby. If no embryo arrives, there will be no pregnancy and menstruation sheds the thickened lining.

Three Key Theories
Biologists have come up with three key theories to explain human menstruation.

Cleansing mechanismIn 1990, a seft-taught biologist Margie Profet suggested menstruation was a cleansing mechanism. Being the amorous species that we are, human females require a mechanism to regularly flush out the infection-laden sperm that gathers from our sexual conquests. (proposed in the 1990s by self-taught biologist Margie Profet : read for your reference)

Invasive embryos -  In some mammals with a placenta, a fertilised embryo attaches to the endometrium only superficially. In humans and other menstruating species, implantation is deep and invasive, and requires an especially luxurious lining to develop in preparation for implantation. While other mammals are able to reabsorb the lining that adorns their fertile womb, the volume of tissue in humans is too great, so if no pregnancy ensues, it is expelled instead. (http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/9618925 : read)

Maternal self-defence - American evolutionary biologists Deena Emera, Roberto Romero and Günter Wagner said that the spontaneous thickening of the uterine lining is in fact a defence mechanism. Except the defence is against our own parasitic offspring, rather than sperm-borne infection.(argue : read) The mother, meanwhile, prefers to be frugal with her resources, so that she can survive this pregnancy.
In the first case, the pre-thickened lining could be an evolutionary push-back to prevent the embryo from burrowing even deeper into the uterine wall.
In the second case it serves as the protection factor to the mother from expending valuable resources on faulty fetuses. While its evolutionary origins are firmly rooted in what takes place during pregnancy, the reality is that for most menstrual cycles, no embryo arrives. The decidual cells that have thickened the uterine lining pack up, the extracellular matrix keeping them all together breaks down.

Fighting The Cause
Menstrual cycles often bring about a variety of uncomfortable symptoms leading up to your period. Premenstrual syndrome (PMS) encompasses the most common issues, such as mild cramping and fatigue, but the symptoms usually go away when your period begins.
However, other, more serious menstrual problems may also occur. Menstruation that is too heavy or too light, or the complete absence of a cycle, may suggest that there are other issues that are contributing to an abnormal menstrual cycle.
Some women experience a range of physical and emotional symptoms.

  • Inflammation of the cervix
  • Under-active thyroid gland (hypothyroidism)
  • Noncancerous uterus tumors (fibroids)
  • Changes in diet or exercise

  • In some cases, women may not get their period. This is called amenorrhea. Common causes of primary amenorrhea and secondary amenorrhea in teens include:

    • Anorexia
    • Overactive thyroid gland (hyperthyroidism)
    • Ovarian cysts
    • Sudden weight gain or loss
    • Stopping birth control
    • Pregnancy
When adults do not menstruate, the common causes are often different. These may include:

    • Premature ovarian failure
    • Pelvic inflammatory disease (a reproductive infection)
    • Stopping birth control
    • Pregnancy
    • Breastfeeding
    • Menopause
Also called dysmenorrhea, extremely painful menstruation is likely linked to an underlying medical problem, such as:

    • Fibroids
    • Pelvic inflammatory disease
    • Abnormal tissue growth outside of the uterus (endometriosis)
This is all that i could gather from my surveys gathered from books , articles and medical magazine. Please remember that a “normal” menstrual cycle means something different for every woman. A cycle that’s regular for you may be abnormal for someone else. It’s important to stay in tune with your body and to talk to your doctor if you notice any significant changes to your menstrual cycle.
